there is a river.

it's interesting to see different types of personalities come out through art even if it's in coaster form.

coasters from color me mine with antonio.

after a long hiatus from blogging, i figured perhaps i should start writing in here again :) today is the first day of september and once again time quickly leaves and school is back before i know it.

I'm considering what I'd like to do once I graduate and my personal fulfillment would be to work for a company that impacts society for the better. They have internships for NIH. Holy criipes. National Institute of Health!!!

that's all for now.

I never stop learning.

First off,

I am honestly SO inspired by the greatness that has been brought to the table by my wonderful new coworkers at Carver Elementary. They are here to help me and open my eyes to brand new possibilities and learning strategies. Something that really stuck out to me was when my boss told me, "You could be doing something that I don't completely agree with, but I will always back you and support you"

Slightly intimidating upon first meeting him, my Site Coordinator is in his mid-thirties and has the stature of a former football player and marine, extremely fit and athletic aka the school's personal jungle gym. However, when he speaks he commands the respect and attention of these children. He said that he is placing pure faith that together, we will make a difference in the lives of these children.

THINK TOGETHER, I have a lot of goals set forth for the following year, especially with the kids that I'm going to be working with.

Teaching
Helping
Inspiring
Nurturing
Kids

Together :)

The one thing that I'd like to learn from Think Together is that acts of kindness, character building, team building are hopefully passed on to the kids and it becomes a trickle effect. If anything, these kids are going to keep me young at heart :P

As for UCI, HOLY MOLY i am going to graduate in a year! WHERE THE HECK DID TIME GO?

grace is ALWAYS available

Grace is available for each of us every day...but we've got to remember to ask for it with a grateful heart and not worry about whether there will be enough for tomorrow

complete opposites.

If you've met my brother Patrick, you would know that he and I are complete opposites and somehow we are siblings. Of course there are moments that we bond over but the most hilarious thing was when I went to the movie theater with him a long time ago and someone asked, "Oh, is this your boyfriend?" I guess we sorta look alike. I definitely do not dress like him, talk like him, listen to the same music, but we share the same beliefs and I respect him.

GOSH. I miss my brother :( I wish Arizona wasn't so far away. Like right now, if we were both living at home still I'd be in my room and he'd be in his. We'd both be doing our own thing, but it's the idea that I could just walk over and talk to him about whatever I was thinking about.

Another thing, that I find utterly unattractive is when people find the need to drink (alcohol) or smoke (cigarettes, weed, etc) socially in order to "feel cool" especially if they are underage. The best line is: "I can handle myself". There are friends and family members in my life that I wish I could straight up say, "Sorry, if I get worked up because I just know one day your health won't be in the best of conditions as it used to be and I happen to care about you ALOT". I'm not saying that I am perfect, in that I've never drank before, but I've come to realize that those things are unnecessary in my life to have a good time.

Feel free to go ahead and handle yourself, but I find it hard to find sympathy and compassion for you if you get hurt somehow, which I wish would never happen. You could have the kindest soul in the world, but my tolerance for drinking and smoking underage is none. I guess this is what I call a pet peeve of mine.

Does someone have to pass away in order for this point to be taken seriously?
GEEEEEEE WIZ.
